The Southern Continent
The Southern Continent is a land of many biomes and environments from tropical, to mountainous, to desert, to grassy highlands. Most Tygers make their home here as it has the most variety of landscapes and most bountiful resources.
Notable Locations
The Cradle
This massive volcano in the center of the continent is said to be the source of Tygers' fire and the stone that once forged their statues. It's revered as a sacred place. |
The Divide
A massive mountain range that spans through the middle of the continent. In its ranges are several smaller volcanoes and in its center is The Cradle. These spire-like mountains are a harsh environment to live in, but contain many valuable resources like obsidian, gemstones, and Ember mines. |
Southern Badlands
To the south of the Divide is a semi-arid region of plateaus and badlands. A small, past civilization once lived here and as such small archaeology camps have sprung up around the area. |
Sandrift Desert
The desert to the east of the Divide is filled with towering dunes and often struck by sandstorms. Little life has found its home here, but there are treasures here for the brave and willing. |
Watcher's Coast
An abnormally large Tyger statue was discovered here with its gaze pointed out over the sea to the north. At the fringes of the desert this strange statue seems to have stood for millennia. |
Gemhaven
An island off the northern coast of the desert. It's incredibly mountainous and contains a large sprawling cave system filled with rare gemstones and ores. |
Stormy Savannah
A large grassland to the east of the desert that has a particularly volatile weather pattern. The storms that form off the coast hit the savannah almost daily. |
Tempest Point
A tall cliff on the northeastern edge of the savannah that is constantly shrouded in storm clouds. |
Everfall Forest
A deciduous forest on the southeastern fringes of the continent that is perpetually in a state of autumn. It's still unexplained why these trees are always sporting their fall colors, but either way it's a beautiful sight. Small islands are scattered around the forest and large amber stones seem to sprout from the ground all around them. |
Riptide Reef
Though the view of the reef is spectacular from the southern shore, the reef itself is crossed by strong currents which make it difficult for non-aquatic species to navigate. The coral radiates every color when the sun hits them. |
Opal Rainforest
A large rainforest on the west side of the Divide. It's lush foliage and bountiful agricultural resources have made it a home for many species. It's known for its beautiful waterways which are said to sparkle like opals in the light. A large waterfall on its southern edges is considered the treasure of the rainforest. |
Floodplain
A large delta and marsh area on the southwestern corner of the continent. The Shining River that flows from the rainforest finally empties into the sea and cuts across the land, often flooding the lush grasslands. |
Blooming Fields
A sprawling grassland of gentle, rolling hills and burst of flower blooms. Every spring the fields erupt into blooms of all colors and the rich soil here helps grow many crops. |
Windswept Bluffs
A highland that stretches to the far northwestern reaches of the continent and far into the sky. These series of rocky plateaus are known for their bamboo thickets and strange stone formations. Winds are also especially strong in this area. |
Stonesong Inlet
Inside this small bay, there are stone spires with odd openings and carvings that create a haunting sound when the wind blows through them. The songs are eerie, but some Tyger revere them for their beauty. |
Raging Sea
The sea to the east of the continent is always angry and the waves crash against the shore with violence due to the storms that often form overhead. |
